Workplace Violence and Terrorism – Recognizing and Mitigating Risk Factors in the Workplace
Workplace violence incidents cause detrimental and at times devastating effects on management and employees. The personal and economic toll can be incalculable in terms of loss and suffering. Unfortunately, workplace violence has become a more common and frequent problem in today’s society and no industry is immune. The SHRM Workplace Violence Survey, published in 2012, found that over one-third of organizations reported incidents of workplace violence.

David McCormick is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Military Policeman / Military Police Investigator. He also worked in the Protective Services Division as a Dignitary Protection specialist providing protection for multiple dignitaries during hundreds of missions, in numerous countries. Upon leaving the Military with the rank of Sergeant he worked at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Corporate Security role before becoming a Law Enforcement Officer.
David has over 23 years of Law Enforcement experience and has been a Police academy instructor for over 14 years teaching both basic and advanced courses. David has worked as a patrol officer and held positions in several special units within his Department. David has extensive experience in undercover operations, surveillance and counter surveillance, Executive Protection, Narcotics investigations, stolen vehicles, and numerous high-risk arrest situations. He has received specialized training in numerous subjects to include: narcotics, fugitive investigations, stolen vehicles, pursuit driving, hazardous materials, patrol rifle, rapid deployment / active shooter, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), surveillance, executive protection, evasive driving, anti-terrorism related courses, force on force, and numerous other schools & seminars.
David has earned countless local, state, and national awards and is a member of several Law Enforcement related Professional organizations.
