Livingston Promise

Receives $15,000 donation to be used for preschool scholarships in Livingston County

Livingston Promise recently received a generous donation of $15,000 from the Bartsch Memorial Trust. The grant funds were awarded to the Livingston Promise in honor of Madeline Richard, daughter of Adam and Michelle Richard of Howell, who passed away last May from a tragic accident.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard explained, “It was really important to us to find a high quality child care option for our daughter. There’s no better way to honor Madeline’s memory than to help other children in our community access a high quality early learning experience -- like the ones offered through the Livingston Promise.”

“We are honored to be able to support an organization that’s working to improve the lives of young children and families in this community.”

Livingston Promise, a 501c3 non-profit, values early childhood initiatives and the long term impact on a child’s success in school and in life. As a community partnership, we believe that two years of preschool with a high quality provider is a key component to this success.

Livingston Promise is currently in its 2nd year of offering preschool scholarships to 3-year-old children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from a quality preschool experience. Seven children received this scholarship during the 2013-14 school year and ten children received this scholarship for the 2014-15 school year. We currently partner with 5 quality preschools throughout Livingston County: Little Saints (Hartland), Little Howeller’s (Howell), Little Glads (Fowlerville), Little Country Kids (Howell) and Crossroads (Howell).

As we continue to grow funding we can offer more scholarships to more families in Livingston County.
