Local Live Block Party to Kick Off Summer in Brighton

The is pleased to present Brighton’s Local Live Block Party noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

Billed as "A Summer Kick-Off," the first-ever event will feature a local musicians, a cheeseburger cook-off between downtown restaurants, a beverage garden and more.

Brighton’s Local Live Block Party will take place at Brighton's Hyne Street lot and on Hyne Street, and is part of the new 2011 civic events calendar, which has the GBACC hosting monthly civic events in downtown Brighton.

Live entertainment will take place in the beverage garden with the following line-up:

• Noon-2:30 p.m.: The Fugitives
• 2:50-5:10 p.m. Robin Horlock Trio
• 5:40-8 p.m.: Some Kinda Jones
• 8:30-11 p.m.: Toppermost

For those 21 and over, the admission fee into the beverage garden and stage area is $2. All others are free. After 6 p.m., anyone under the age of 21 will not be admitted into the event. For those 21 and over beer will be for sale for $3 and wine will be $4.
