Prom Fashion Show at BHS

Couples dressed up at BHS to premiere this years Prom outfits.

On April 5th students walked the runway in the BCPA for the annual Prom Fashion Show. The event's purpose is to display the year's latest styles in a entertaining way while promoting this year's prom at Crystal Gardens. Students could officially sign up for their tables at the dinner prior to the dance.
Plenty of preparation went into producing a successful, entertaining show. Students had a rehearsal in order to perfect their walkout routines and insure that the show goes smooth without a hitch.
As the girls choose their dresses, the tuxedos that were displayed in the fashion show were provided locally by Brighton Tux shop. The colors ranged from the black and white, to maroon and black.
Most of the entertainment of the fashion show comes from the students freedom to be creative with their walkout routines and pick their own outfits. These routines included a variety of dances, handshakes, and funny poses. This creativity lead the students to think outside the box to make the event truly memorable
“Well since I raise chickens I only thought it was suitable for me to wear my favorite cowboy hat,” senior class president Tommy Hill said.
The fashion show wasn't the only exciting event of the evening. Prizes of all sorts were raffled of to lucky spectators. Some of these raffle items included cash prizes, two tickets to this year's prom, and gift cards to restaurants all around Brighton.
Although part of the fashion show’s purpose is to provide quality entertainment to help students get through the week, the main reason to host the event is to promote and raise money for this year's prom. Sheets were available for table sign ups at the show.
“I’m glad students got to have a good time and started thinking about Prom early, it gets way to hectic when everyone tries to make plans last minute,” senior Molly Mularoni said.
The dance is on May 14 at Crystal Gardens. Tickets will be sold at $65 each. Even though the tickets are a tad pricier than last year the ticket grants you entry to the dance as well as a dinner before hand which is hosted by Crystal Gardens.
“Im super excited for my last prom at BHS I hope this one is the best one yet,” senior Abby Mckinnon Said.
Overall the Prom Fashion Show was a huge success. The performances were entertaining and the raffles raised extra cash for this year's dance while providing excitement for the crowd. The event got students excited for the last few months of school and for the dance itself. Not only were the all the reviews great, but the money raised will go to more exciting, fun prom.
