A Christmas highlight for me was watching children receive from Santa the wooden shapes and toys that were donated by Bennett's Beavers at the December meeting of MOCSEM, the Mustang Owners Club of SouthEast Michigan. Jim Bennett of Hamburg Township was there to accept a charitable donation from the club, one of nine made by MOCSEM with the money they raised during the year. Jim and his wife Marilyn brought a box of the wooden shapes to illustrate how they help children in 20 hospitals across the U.S. (see my earlier blogs). In 2013, Bennett's Beavers produced nearly 48,000 pieces that were painted and loved by children battling health issues. See more at http://www.bennettsbeavers.com/ My husband, Gary Brewer, is a Bennett's Beaver and member of MOCSEM, and brought the two together. And although Mustang owners drive all colors of ponies, I see an awful lot of red ones. In my opinion, all 625 MOCSEM members wear white hats, doing much good every year with the money they collect at car shows, swap meets and other events. BTW, Gary started a western chapter of MOCSEM for folks here in Livingston County and vicinity. For info, contact him at gbrewer1@charter.net.
