• With squash, spice and chorizo, culinary students offer a taste of chili (schoolnewsnetwork.org) — A Cedar Springs High School senior joined classmates from Lowell and Sacred Heart Academy to represent Kent Career Tech Center’s culinary program in a chili cook-off fundraiser at Sullivan Field. Their squash-and-chorizo “Gourd Stuff” chili didn’t win, but the students gained real-world kitchen experience, met local chefs, and helped support restoration of the historic ballpark.
