Baker College of Jackson will host its 15th annual Spring Tea fundraiser, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, April 30, in the student center, 2800 Springport Road, Jackson.

This year all proceeds from the tea will benefit the Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, a local organization that works to help children grow up safe and healthy in the Jackson community.

“This event is a great way to kick off spring while supporting a very valuable community organization,” said Steve Simpson, Ed.D., Baker College of Jackson president. “It’s also a fun time for everyone, and we are especially grateful to all the community leaders and others who so gladly volunteer to take part.”

Local celebrities and business leaders will serve tea and a light luncheon. This year’s theme for decorating the tea tables will be “Celebrating Fathers.” Guests vote to award prizes to the top three People’s Choice table decorations.

In addition to the tea and luncheon, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase items such as locally designed jewelry, tea and other items from area vendors. Raffle tickets will be available for original artwork by Sheryl Amburgey of Essa Arts, a $250 cash prize and a Night in Chelsea at Common Grill and the Purple Rose Theatre.
