Sports run deep in Chelsea, and Chelsea High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Bulldog uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Chelsea High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.


Berkley Edwards – Michigan Running Back & Part Of A Football Legacy

A former Chelsea High School football and track star, Berkley Edwards followed in the footsteps of his father, Stan, and older brother, Braylon, to play Division I football. After rushing for over 1,300 yards as a senior, Edwards began his college career at Minnesota before transferring to Central Michigan and eventually Michigan. Known for his speed, he was also a state champion sprinter and an Olympic Junior relay winner. At Michigan, he contributed as a special teams player and running back during the 2018 season, earning a varsity letter. (Source: MGoBlue.com)


Ali Mann – NCAA Sweet Sixteen Star & BGSU Hall Of Famer

Ali Mann helped Bowling Green State University reach unprecedented heights in women’s basketball, leading the Falcons to four MAC title game appearances and a historic Sweet Sixteen run in 2007. The Chelsea native and four-year starter finished her college career with 1,825 points and 911 rebounds, earning honors as MAC Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Tournament MVP. Tony Scheffler – Former NFL Tight End

Tony Scheffler made his mark in the NFL as a reliable tight end for the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions, but it all started at Chelsea High School, where he set a school record with 1,340 receiving yards in 2000. He went on to play for Western Michigan and was drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. After eight seasons in the league and multiple concussions, he retired in 2014. Lindsey Baker Evans – Record-Setting Volleyball MVP

Lindsey Baker Evans remains the most decorated volleyball player in Alma College history. The 2005 Chelsea High alum and four-year starter was named MIAA MVP twice and still holds the career record for assists (5,106). Her senior year saw her average over 13 assists per set, ranking fourth in all of Division III. Theresa Schuessler a.k.a. Fallon Henley – WWE Star & NXT Champion

Known by her ring name Fallon Henley, Theresa Schuessler grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School in 2012. After a college degree in criminology, she entered professional wrestling, competing in promotions like AEW and eventually signing with WWE. Henley has since claimed the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship and the inaugural WWE Women’s Speed Championship.
