Chelsea's Purple Rose Theatre Nominated for 11 Rogue Gallery Awards
The local performance theater was among 26 theaters across the state nominated for an award in 2012.
The Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea has been nominated for the 2012 Rogue Gallery Awards.
The awards are given out yearly in recognition of excellence in the performing arts. This year’s nominees span 73 productions by 26 theaters and companies in Michigan.

- Best Drama: A Stone Carver
- Best New Play or Adaptation: Don Zolidis, White Buffalo
- Best Scenic Design: Daniel C. Walker, A Stone Carver
- Best Lighting Design: Dana White, Escanaba in da Moonlight
- Best Sound Design: Quintessa Gallinat, Escanaba in da Moonlight
- Best Ensemble (Five or more): White Buffalo
- Best Lead Actress (Drama): Charlyn Swarthout, A Stone Carver
- Best Lead Actor (Drama): Guy Sanville, A Stone Carver
- Best Lead Actor (Comedy): John Peakes, On Golden Pond
- Best Supporting Actor (Comedy): Wayne David Parker, Escanaba in da Moonlight
