New Exhibit Opens at the River Gallery in Chelsea

Mark Chatterlerly's exhibit "Heads Up" opens on Sept. 15.

Michigan artist Mark Chattelerly's clay artwork will be on display at the River Gallery in Chelsea beginning Sept. 15.

The exhibit titled "Heads Up" will run through Oct. 28. An opening reception will take place Sept. 15 from 5-8 p.m.

“I am doing the work of our time, for our time, even though I look to the past, to the deceased and their spirits for inspiration. I also try to show the thoughts and feelings of our human condition," Chatterley said. "Beauty is in our flaws and our acceptance of the inevitable. I want my art to echo these thoughts; everything is in a state of flux, changing and reforming, nothing is permanent and nothing stays the same. Life, death, creation and destruction, then life again, this is the world we find ourselves in.”
