The Rev. Dr. Barbara Edema has been a pastor for over twenty years. To Love and To Cherish is her first novel and was inspired by her experiences of parish life in a small town. In addition to countless sermons and a weekly blog, Barb is the author of three plays, all of which have been performed in Chelsea. Barb lives in DeWitt, Michigan with her husband and an assortment of cats.

To Love and To Cherish is the story of Pastor Maggie, a young pastor at Loving the Lord Church on Middle Street in Cherish (Chelsea), Michigan. Maggie’s first year of ordained ministry takes us on a journey of love, laughter, trials, tears, and redemption. Rev. Dr. Barbara Edema has just finished writing her second book in the Pastor Maggie series: To Have and To Hold

Quotes:

“I laughed, I cried, I wanted more when I got to the end. I really connected to each character and can’t wait for the second book.”

” A fast-moving, witty story about love and redemption alive today.”

Pastor Barb: “It is overwhelming to receive comments about this book. People love each and every character. I think it’s because being part of a loving church is the most incredible experience of all. FCC will always be the church that stole my heart.”
