70,000 steps in 7 days! April 28-May 4
Why should your goal be to get 10,000 steps per day? Many studies show an active lifestyle decreases your risk for heart disease and improves your health. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) states that adults should be getting at least 30 min of exercise most days of the week. Accomplishing the goal of 10,000 steps per day will fulfill this requirement and help decrease risk for type II diabetes and heart disease as well as increase your energy!
How can you get 10,000 steps a day? There are a few easy ways to begin adding more steps in your daily life. If you live close enough to walk/run/bike to work then do it! Be sure to take the extra time to plan ahead so you can make it on time. If you don’t live close enough, try parking in the back area of the parking lot. The same principle can be applied when going to the grocery store.
