$2,500 Reward in Case of Dog that May Have Been Burned Alive
The Michigan Humane Society says a preliminary investigation indicates the dog may have been alive when it was set on fire.

The Michigan Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward in a case about a dog believed to have been burned alive on Detroit’s east side Friday, according to a post on the animal welfare group’s Facebook page.
The Humane Society’s Cruelty Investigation Department received a call Friday morning about a dog that was “down and dying.” When the rescue driver arrived, “he found a deceased dog that had been burned in a garbage can and covered with branches,” according to the post

Preliminary findings show that the dog may have still been alive when it was set on fire; however, these findings are not conclusive, as it is early in the investigation, the Humane Society said.
The post has generated more than 1,350 comments and has been shared more than 2,250 times by outraged Facebook users.

Some questioned whether the dog was used as bait in dog fighting. Others noted the link between animal abusers, serial killers and child abusers.
