CLAWSON, MI — A beloved Oakland County pizza restaurant is closing down after 46 years.
Perry's Pizza, located along Main Street in Clawson, will shut down for good on Nov. 8.
Owners and staff blamed a struggling economy for the closing.
"Food costs have continued to rise, utility costs have gone up dramatically in the past few years along with day to day operation cost," they said.
The restaurant's owners went on to say closing down was an "incredibly difficult decision."
"To our past and present staff: thank you for all your hard work and for being part of this journey," they said. "We couldn't have done it without you."
The family-owned neighborhood pizza spot is best known for its square and round pizzas, antipasto salads, cheese bread and subs.
