Walton Charter Academy celebrates National Reading Month at Barnes & Noble Booksellers
As part of National Reading Month, Walton Charter Academy recently held its 3rd annual book fair at the local Barnes & Noble. Students enjoyed a Fancy Nancy story time, educational games, meeting Bena Hartman, local author ofJasmine Can, and a ‘Hunger Games’ themed scavenger hunt. Many prizes including Barnes and Noble gift cards, educational games, autographed copies of Jasmine Can, The Hunger Games soundtrack, and a Nook eReader were raffled off throughout the evening. The winner of the Nook giveaway was fifth grader Nicholas Harbin! The school had its best turnout and book sales to date, and is looking forward to hosting this event for years to come.
