Big Change Ahead in Weather for Clawson

More winter-like temperatures are coming to southeast Michigan this week, with daytime highs in the teens in the forecast by the weekend.

The low-pressure disturbance that brought precipitation to the metro Detroit area Sunday is “a sign that we’re heading back toward colder weather, which wil be the case for much of the coming week,” meteorologist Dave Gurney told the Detroit Free Press

Here’s the seven-day forecast from the National Weather Service;

Overnight Sunday into Monday: Snow, mainly before 3 a.m.Low around 19. North northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Monday: A chance of snow showers before 9 a.m., then a chance for flurries. Cloudy, with a high near 24. North wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Monday night: Scattered flurries before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 25. North northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Wednesday: A chance of snow showers after 8 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 28. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Wednesday night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Thursday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 21. Blustery.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 2.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 15.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 7.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 0.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 15.
