Kenwood Students Turn Clawson Pink
Kenwood Elementary "Turns Clawson Pink" in an awareness campaign to fight breast cancer.
Friday, was a great day for students to help in our ongoing fight against breast cancer by participating in an awareness campaign called "LET'S TURN CLAWSON PINK". Each student was encouraged to wear pink today and I must say they outdid themselves! What a beautiful sight to see boys, girls, parents, siblings, administration, and staff in every shade and hue of pink imaginable. It wasn't just a day to wear a specific color however. As Kenwood Principal Virgina Mantela explained, "It's a day for each teacher in each specific classroom to broach the subject of support for causes and the impact it can have. Each teacher will approach this in an age appropriate way befitting their classroom."
I was so honored to be a part of this and wear pink as I walked my daughter (who was pink head to toe) up to school. It was even more heartwarming to see the huge participation of the Kenwood family.
