Free Admission Offered at Select Oakland County Parks on Thanksgiving Day
Entry to a handful of parks will be free on Thanksgiving. That includes dog parks.

If turkey and stuffing leave you feeling stuffed on Thanksgiving Day, Oakland County Parks and Recreation is offering a free option to begin working off the extra calories.
During Guest Appreciation Day, entry to select county parks is free on Thanksgiving Day. Park hours are 30 minutes before and after sunset, or as posted at the parks.
The affected parks are:

- Addison Oaks County Park, 1480 W Romeo Rd, Leonard, MI
- Highland Oak County Park, 6555 Milford Rd, Highland Township
- Independence Oaks County Park, 9501 Sashabaw Rd, Clarkston
- Lyon Oaks County Park, 52221 W Pontiac Trail, Wixom
- Orion Oaks Dog Park, on Joslyn Road between Clarkston and Scripps in Orion Township
- Red Oaks Dog Park, 31353 Dequindre, Madison Heights
The free entry also applies to the three dog parks at Lyon Oaks, Orion Oaks and Red Oaks
