The Michigan Community Service Commission is coordinating and mobilizing the volunteers effort. The immediate need is for manual labor, helping homeowners salvage belongings, sorting and removing debris, and gutting out damaged basements.
Volunteers should bring lunch (work site might not be near a restaurant or grocery store) and a water bottle (coolers will be provided), and wear sturdy, thick-soled closed-toe shoes and wear clothing they won’t mind getting dirty.
