OCBA Free Legal Aid Clinic at Ferndale Public Library

Not every one with a legal matter can afford to hire an attorney to get their questions answered.

It’s with that motivation that the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) will host its Free Legal Aid Clinic on Thursday, May 1, from 4:30 pm to 7 pm, at the Ferndale Public Library (222 East 9 Mile Road, east of Woodward) in Ferndale.

Lawyers and other legal experts will be available to meet privately for one-on-one consultations to discuss individual’s specific legal questions.

The free clinic is designed to help educate the community on the different areas of law and assist in finding answers to legal questions pertaining to the individuals.

Volunteer attorneys will provide basic information, advice and counsel on several areas of law, including:

·Juvenile Law

·Family Law

·Criminal Law

·Landlord Tenant

Although the event is free to attend, RSVPs are still welcomed (yet, not required) and can be made by calling the Oakland County Bar Association at 248-334-3400.

The Oakland County Bar, founded in 1934, has a long history of service to the legal profession and to the community. With approximately 3,100 members, the mission of the OCBA is to serve the professional needs of its members, improve the justice system and promote the delivery of quality legal services to the public.
