Police Blotter: Bike Stolen, Customer Trouble

The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.

Customer Trouble at Super 8

On Sept. 26, a monthly customer of the Super 8 Motel in Clawson asked the manager if her bill could be lowered. After being denied, the customer paid for a few nights' stays in advance. A couple of days later, the customer said she saw online reviews of the motel that claimed there were bed bugs there. She showed the reviews to the manager, saying she had noticed suspicious bumps/bites on her arm that will be checked out by a doctor. The manager refunded her money for the nights she would no longer be staying, and then proceeded to ask her to leave. The woman began arguing and Clawson Police were called to break up the situation.

Bike Stolen from Yard

A Clawson resident called police on Sept. 23 to report suspicious activity around his home on Nakota after having a bike stolen from his front yard two days prior. He claimed that the bike was "old and in bad shape" so he did not care about getting it back. However, on the day the report was made, the man saw a black Ford Ranger Edge with a hitch on the back parked near his house, taking pictures. He claimed he tried to yell out to the two males inside of the car and they drove off. Police said they will do extra patrol on the area during the midnight shift.

Anyone with information about the above incident is asked to call Clawson Police at 248-435-5000.
