Who's Leading Comerica's Home of the Brave Singing Contest? Still Time to Vote
The race is tight, and the public only has a few more days to vote for their favorite hero singing "The Star-Spangled Banner."

This is the last week for the public to vote for its favorite hometown hero in Comerica Bank’s Home of the Brave National Anthem Singing Contest.
Metro Detroit police officers, firefighters, military members and veterans submitted videos to the Comerica Cares Facebook page hoping to win the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the Sept. 27, Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park, 35 tickets to the game, and a $10,000 grant for their police station or fire station, military unit or one of two military nonprofit organizations – Wounded Warrior Project or The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center.
The race has been tight. Rankings as of Sept. 15 are as follows (click on the link to hear the National Anthem, then go to Facebook to vote:

- Brendan Moore – Ferndale Police Department
- Lane Meurer – current military, 1462nd Trans. Co.
- Patrice Dubose – Detroit Police Department, 11th Precinct
- Walter Johnston – Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority Station 6
- Roderick Wynn – Auburn Hills Fire Station 1/T-1
- Tim Spink – Veteran, Company B, 68th Armored Division
- Steven Miller – current military, Navy Recruiting District Michigan
The public has until Saturday, Sept. 20, to cast votes and support their favorite contestant. To vote, visit the Comerica Cares Facebook page, click on the “Home of the Brave” tab and follow the instructions. A winner will be announced on Monday, Sept. 22.
The 200th anniversary of the national anthem is observed this year.
