2 Arrested In Shooting Outside Macomb County Shopping Mall: Police

The shooting happened last year during a tree lighting ceremony outside a Macomb County mall, according to police.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting during a tree lighting ceremony at a metro Detroit shopping center months ago, according to police.

The shooting happened at 7:13 p.m. on Nov. 23 near the MJR Theater at the Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township, according to police.

Police said two groups of people were arguing outside the entrance to the theater when shots were fired, striking a 17-year-old.

The teen was taken to a nearby hospital with non-fatal injuries, according to police.

Police did not release any additional details about the suspects.

"We acknowledge this was a complex, lengthy investigation. Limited information was intentionally provided during the process to ensure its success. We now stand firm: those responsible have been caught," police said in a statement.
