CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — One person was killed and another person was injured in a Wednesday fire in Clinton Township, according to officials.
The fire happened at 8:36 a.m. Wednesday at a condominium on Suttons Bay Drive, according to officials.
Officials said a neighbor called 911 after noticing smoke coming from the home.
Firefighters arrived within six minutes and extinguished the fire, according to officials.
Inside the home, officials said they found one person dead and another person who was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Their condition was unclear.
Officials were still investigating the cause of the fire.
"Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy," Clinton Township Supervisor Paul Gieleghem said. "We are keeping everyone impacted by this incident in our thoughts, particularly the individual who is receiving care. We are grateful to our first responders who acted quickly to respond to this incident."
