Baker College's Clinton Township campus to bestow diplomas June 11

Approximately 730 graduates will be honored at the 2016 commencement ceremony at Bethesda Christian Church in Sterling Heights.

Baker College's Clinton Township campus will honor approximately 730 graduates at the 2016 commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11, Bethesda Christian Church, 14000 Metropolitan Parkway, Sterling Heights.

"At Baker College, our focus is firmly fixed on providing the quality education necessary for our students to succeed in their chosen careers," said Patricia A. Kaufman, Ed.D., Baker College of Clinton Township president. “As they graduate and move into those careers, we commend them on achieving this milestone.”

Kimberly Mazure, of Roseville, is the student speaker. She will speak to the graduates about overcoming obstacles. She will receive an associate degree in administrative professional.

Mazure persevered through her husband’s health problems and their financial issues when she lost her job after he was diagnosed with cancer. Their daughter, Erika, was instrumental in supporting Kim in her quest for a degree. She encouraged Kim to pursue a degree at Baker College when Erika was working on an associate degree in interior design. Erika also ensured she and Kim shared at least one class each quarter while Erika was attending Baker College so they could study together. Kim has another daughter, Alicia, who made Kim a first-time grandmother last year.

In addition, one outstanding graduate will also be recognized from each of the following programs:
