Clinton Township Woman Injured In Detroit Freeway Shooting: Police
A Clinton Township woman was injured in a shooting Sunday night on a Detroit freeway, Michigan State Police said.
DETROIT — A Clinton Township woman was injured in a shooting Sunday night on a Detroit freeway, Michigan State Police said.
The 23-year-old woman was driving in the right lane on westbound on Interstate 94 near Dickerson Avenue at 10:35 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up beside her and someone started shooting, police said.
The woman was shot in the shoulder and drove herself to a Detroit police precinct, where police took her to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

The woman told police she first got onto eastbound 94 after dropping friends off at their home in downtown Detroit after a party, police said.
While driving eastbound on the freeway, she decided to exit the freeway and get gas, police said.

However, she told police she had an "uncomfortable feeling and chose not to get gas," police said.
She then got back onto the freeway, this time driving westbound, when moments later a vehicle pulled up beside her and someone started firing shots into her car, police said.
Investigators found two shell casings on the freeway where the woman repotted the shooting, but police have not identified any shooters. There is currently no description of a shooter either.
