WARREN, MI — A Clinton Township man is facing life in prison after police said he shot someone multiple times in Warren following a family argument on Thanksgiving night.

Michael Kamal Sinnawi, 35, was charged with assault with intent to murder (a felony punishable by up to life), discharge of a firearm from a vehicle causing injury (15 year felony), possession of a firearm (5 year felony) and two counts of felony firearm (2 year felony), according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.

A judge set Sinnawi's bond at $1 million and scheduled his next court appearance for Dec. 6. If he posts bond, then he must wear a GPS tether, officials said.

Prosecutors said Sinnawi's girlfriend began arguing with her brother after he accused her of being disrespectful towards their mother, leading Sinnawi to threaten the brother.

Sinnawi and the brother then planned to meet up for a physical fight, officials said.

The brother and one of his sisters were then driven to a home near 12 Mile and Schoenherr roads early Friday morning to wait for Sinnawi, officials said.

As Sinnawi and his girlfriend pulled up next to the car, Sinnawi shot the driver five times and drove away, officials said.

The man was struck in the knee, hand, and thigh and taken to a nearby hospital, officials said. The two other people who were in the vehicle were not injured in the shooting, officials said.
