Dad in Child Custody Case Threatens to ‘Sever the Heads’ of Judges: Sheriff
The suspect allegedly used a phony email address to send the threat to an attorney, who notified the chief judge.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — A Sterling Heights man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened to “sever the heads” of two judges presiding over custody cases involving his children, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Mohammad Subhi Alsheleh, 30, is accused of threatening visiting Circuit Court Judge James Biernat Sr and Judge Kathryn George, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. He is charged with two 20-year felonies: false report or threat of terrorism and using a computer to commit a crime.
Authorities began their investigation on Sept. 28 after a Royal Oak attorney received an email threat against the two judges and forwarded it to Macomb Chief Circuit Judge James Biernat Jr., who turned it over to the sheriff’s office, according to the release.

The alleged threats were sent from a mobile device and had phony e-mail address, but detectives were able to develop a suspect “based on prior occurrences and the fact that (the suspect) had child-custody proceedings in the 16th Circuit Court of Macomb in front of both of the judges,” according to the release.
Alsheleh was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding Chesterfield Township warrant, according to the release. He was arraigned in Sterling Heights 41A District Court, where his bond was set at $50,000 cash.
