MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A Macomb County Sheriff’s Deputy was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a crash at the intersection of 29 Mile Road and Van Dyke Road. The deputy was traveling southbound on Van Dyke when the Sterling Heights woman, who was in a 2010 Ford Edge, drove through a red light heading westbound on 29 Mile Road and struck him. The deputy, a 17-year veteran of the Macomb County force, was transported to Troy Beaumont Hospital.
Police said neither the woman or a passenger in the Ford were hurt. The Sterling Heights woman registered a .12 blood alcohol level after a breath test, according to a police report.
