Macomb County Man Struck By Lightning; Critically Injured: Sheriff
Officials said the Clinton Township man was gathering firewood in an open area in Lynn Township on Sunday when he was struck by lightning.
LYNN TOWNSHIP, MI — A Macomb County man was struck by lightning Sunday afternoon as severe thunderstorms rolled through southeastern Michigan, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
The 58-year-old man from Clinton Township was taken to the Hurley Medical Center in Flint, where he was listed in critical condition, officials said.
Officials said the Clinton Township man and a 62-year-old man from Warren, were in "an open area gathering firewood" in the 8900 Block of Capac Rd in Lynn Township on Sunday at 2 p.m. when the Clinton Township man was struck by lightning.

The 62-year-old man from Warren suffered minor injuries in the incident, officials said.
Officers that responded to the scene said that there were localized thunderstorms and periods of intermittent heavy rain in the area at the time of the incident.
