Macomb Community College student Kayla Cornett, 19, of Beverly Hills, was named the 2017 Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Eastern Conference Volleyball Player of the Year and was named to the All-Region team and First Team All-Conference. A graduate of Wylie E. Groves High School, Cornett is a sophomore at Macomb.
Joining Cornett on the First Team All-Conference is freshman Kailey Grulke, 17, of Warren. Grulke was also named to the All-Freshman Team and is a 2018 graduate of Lutheran High School Northwest.

Named to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team were Lindsey McBride and Lark Tate. McBride, 19, of Chesterfield Township is a sophomore at Macomb and a 2017 graduate of Anchor Bay High School. Tate, 19, of Ferndale, is a 2017 graduate of Cass Tech High School and is currently a sophomore at Macomb.

The awards were chosen by a vote of MCCAA eastern conference coaches.
