A man on trial for shooting at cops cut his tether, prompting law enforcement to set up a perimeter around his Clinton Township apartment.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man on trial for shooting at Detroit police officers in 2017 is back in police custody after reportedly cutting off his tether and fleeing authorities. Detroit native Ivory Traylor allegedly resisted arrest and opened fire on two officers at Jefferson and DuBois downtown on May 17, 2017. Last Friday, Traylor reportedly cut his GPS tether device and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Traylor also had an address listed in Clinton Township. Officers set up a perimeter to watch the apartment located on Stair Street and he was taken into custody on Saturday. U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Clinton Township Special Response Team and Hostage Negotiation Team were all on the scene to make the arrest.
Traylor was arraigned on the arrest warrant on Tuesday and remanded to jail without bond. His final conference is scheduled for June 4.
