Police Seek Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run
The driver of a white truck reportedly struck and killed a 34-year-old Clinton Township man early Monday morning.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Police are looking for a suspect vehicle responsible for a fatal hit and run that happened early Monday morning in Clinton Township. Police say a truck hit and killed a 34-year-old Clinton Township man. He has not yet been identified, pending police notifying his family.
The preliminary investigation showed that a white truck was traveling southbound on Gratiot in the left lane while the victim was walking from the west side of the road to the east. The victim was struck on the passenger side of the vehicle, causing the mirror to break off, police said. The vehicle failed to stop and the man was died from injuries at the hospital.
According to authorities, the crash occurred in a “poorly lit” section of Gratiot, which is a one-way street with four lanes. The speed limit is 35 mph. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Police were able to locate several cameras in the area which captured the fleeing vehicle. The Clinton Township Police Department are continuing the investigation and request any witnesses to the crash or anyone having information pertinent to the crash, to contact the police department at: (586) 493-7802.
