Shots Fired, Attempted Murder Charges Filed in Road Rage: Sheriff
It's unclear what sparked the confrontation, but one of the shots struck the victim's vehicle, authorities said.

Macomb County, MI — A Mount Clemens man is accused of firing several shots after he followed another motorist home in what Macomb County authorities are calling an incident of road rage.
The trouble that landed Samuel Smith, 23, behind bars on assault with intent to murder and felony firearm charges unfolded Monday evening.

Smith followed another driver to his home in the vicinity of S. Christine and N. Rose in Mount Clemens, where the two began arguing, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Authorities said that when Smith, who is licensed to carry a concealed pistol, pulled his gun from his waistband, the other man tried to take a picture with his cellphone before Smith allegedly knocked it out of his hands.

The victim fled in 2009 Dodge Challenger and Smith allegedly fired several shots, striking the victim’s vehicle. No one was injured.
Smith doesn’t have a criminal record, and authorities described him as cooperative. He was arrested without incident.
Smith was arraigned via video from jail in the 41-B District Court of Clinton Township on Tuesday. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
