Some Homes, Business and Apartments in Clinton Township Now Have Access to AT&T Fiber

The high-speed internet allows customers to download 25 songs in a second.

AT&T launched ultra-fast internet service in parts of Clinton Township, allowing eligible homes, apartments and small business locations in the area to get a 1 gigabit internet connection on a 100% fiber network under the AT&T Fiber umbrella brand.

Canton, South Lyon, Clinton Township and Novi are among the first areas to get the high-speed internet. The plan is to expand access to ultra-fast internet speeds in parts of Detroit, Ann Arbor, Roseville and Ferndale in mid-2017.

The company is on track to exceed the 12.5 million locations across the country, planned by mid-2019.

“We fully support AT&T’s investment in ultra-fast internet in the region. We look forward to working with them to expand in the city of Detroit and other communities,” said Sally Talberg, chairwoman of the Michigan Public Service Commission. “High-speed internet is a service residents and businesses have come to expect and access to it will enhance opportunities to grow our local economy.”
