Lenawee County Courts (3/12/20)

Following the Declaration of Emergency by Governor Whitmer regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, until further notice, the Lenawee County Circuit Courts, the Lenawee County Probate Court, and the Lenawee 2A District Courts will remain open, but the following intermediate steps will be immediately in effect for all of the Courts until further notice: Full public Notice (pdf)

Sheriff’s Office (3/13/20):

As a precautionary measure because of COVID-19 (Corona Virus) effective March 13th the Sheriff’s Business Office will not be Fingerprinting for applicant prints (CPL, etc.). We will be re-evaluating this after two weeks. Again, we do apologize for the inconvenience, however, we must do all we can to protect our Staff. Thank you for your understanding.

Health Department (3/13/20) - Cancellation of March 16, 2020 Food Handler Classes

Out of an abundance of caution, the Lenawee County Health Department has made the decision to cancel the Food Handler classes scheduled for 2:00pm and 7:00pm on Monday, March 16th. We are asking that anyone that is signed up for the classes and has not already been contacted to please call our office at 517-264-5213. Participants can either ask to receive a full refund, or they can be transferred to another class at a later date. Currently, there are no plans to cancel the next class, which is scheduled for 9:30am on Wednesday, April 15th. Decisions regarding the status of future classes will be made in the coming weeks. Lenawee Department on Aging (3/13/20)

The Lenawee County Department on Aging is committed to providing services to older adults in a safe and effective manner during this time of challenge. Through counsel of the Lenawee County Health Department, we are electing to adjust our services as follows effective, Monday, March 16, 2020:

1. All Senior Centers will be closed until further notice.
2. A Curbside Service will be offered for participants to still have access to nutritious meals. Information regarding this practice is yet to come.
3. The Home Delivered Meals will continue to be delivered with some additional protocols in place to protect volunteer drivers and clients.
4. Daybreak Adult Day Services will be closed until further notice.
5. Home Services will continue with additional protocols in place to protect staff and volunteers.
6. Volunteer Transportation to non-emergency medical appointments will continue with additional protocols to protect volunteer drivers and clients.
7. Assessments will continue, with some phone interviews being exchanged for face-to-face contact on a case-by-case situation.We thank our community for their patience as we work together to find the best practices to assure services are provided where ever safely appropriate.
