Watch D.O.G.S. to Walk to School with Clinton Township Kids
Wednesday is International Walk to School Day, and Tenniswood Elementary students will have some special escorts.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Tenniswood Elementary Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) will join thousands of schools from around the world in celebrating International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Approximately 200 students from Tenniswood Elementary will be walking to school on Wednesday along with their parents and Watch D.O.G.S. The event will begin at 8:15 a.m. at the King Street and Fierz intersection. Walkers will arrive at school at 8:30 a.m., where they will recite the pledge of allegiance and take photos.
Walk to School Day events raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for walking and emphasize the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion and concern for the environment. The events build connections between families, schools and the broader community.

Watch D.O.G.S. is an innovative father-involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering. Their mission is to provide positive male role models for students and provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
