1 Dead In Police Shooting After Crash On Ford Road In Garden City: MSP

A man was killed in a Tuesday morning police shooting after a crash in Garden City, according to Michigan State Police.

GARDEN CITY, MI — A man was killed in a Tuesday morning police shooting after a crash in Garden City, according to Michigan State Police.

Police said a 37-year-old man from Hamtramck was driving on Ford Road near Venoy Road where he slammed into another car.

After the crash, the man got out of the vehicle and shot a person who was approaching the scene to help, police said.

The shooter then began firing shots at several other cars in the area before an officer fatally shot him, police said.

The witness who was shot was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.

The person who was injured in the crash was also taken to a nearby hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.

No one else was injured in the crash or shooting as police continue investigating the crash and shooting, police said.

Police did not immediately identify the shooter, victim or vehicles.
