Teen Hurt, 1 Arrested In Accidental Dearborn Heights Shooting: Police

A 16-year-old boy​ was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, while a 14-year-old was arrested, police said.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — A boy was arrested Monday after a teen was injured in an accidental shooting in Dearborn Heights, according to police.

A 14-year-old boy was holding a gun at a home in the 8400 block of Grayfield Street around 3:30 p.m. when it accidentally fired and struck a 16-year-old boy, police said.

The 16-year-old boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was being treated for critical injuries, police said.

Investigators are planning to formally charge the 14-year-old in connection to the shooting, police said.

Officials were still investigating the shooting.
