11-Year-Old Boy Hit, Killed By Car In Metro Detroit: Police
The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
TAYLOR, MI — A boy died after he was hit by a car Tuesday in metro Detroit, according to police.
The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday near the Ponds Apartments, along Eureka and Inkster roads in Taylor, according to police.
Family identified the boy as 11-year-old Jacob Robinson. His mother, Jacob Robinson, told Fox 2 Detroit her son was walking to the store to get snacks when the crash happened.

"I talked to him. I said, "Jacob, you've got to hurry home before it gets dark," she said. "Next thing I know, I kept calling him and calling him, and I couldn't get ahold of him," she told the news station.
The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police do not suspect the driver was impaired.

Jacob did well in school and loved sports and music, family said.
