19-Year-Old River Rouge Man Shoots, Kills His Grandmother: Report

Officials said 19-year-old Jordan Dow was also living in the same house where they found his grandmother shot to death.

RIVER ROUGE, MI — A 19-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after police said he shot his grandmother to death inside her River Rouge home, police said, according to a report from Fox 2 Detroit.

Jordan Dow was charged with second-degree murder and felony firearm possession after police found 61-year-old Lela Dow shot to death inside her home on Forest Street, where Jordan was also living, police said.

Jordan was also held on a tether violation related to a different case where he was charged with criminal sexual conduct involving minors. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail, the report said.

Police found Lela's body while performing a welfare check after a coworker called police and reported her missing when she didn't show up for her morning shift, the report said. Police believe Jordan was the last person to have seen her alive.

As police questioned Jordan, they determined Jordan and Lela had a good relationship and so far nothing suggests otherwise, police said.
