$1K Reward Offered For Information In Dearborn Benihana Shooting

DEARBORN, MI — Police are asking the community for help with a shooting that left two people injured Wednesday night outside a Dearborn Benihana.
The shooting happened at 9 p.m. Wednesday night on the 18000 block of Hubbard Dr near Fairlane Town Center, according to police.
Police said at least one person inside a gold or silver Ford Explorer fired nearly 20 rounds into a group of people standing by their vehicles outside the restaurant.

Two people were injured in the shooting and taken to a nearby hospital where they are expected to make a full recovery, according to police.
Police did not identify the shooting victims.

"Our officers secured the area almost immediately following reports of gunshots, and we do not believe there to be a threat of danger to the broader public at this point," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said. "The Dearborn Police Department will aggressively investigate this violent crime and utilize all available resources to identify those involved. We are urging anyone with information to please come forward."
