3 Dead, 2 Injured In I-94 Crash In Taylor: Police

State troopers said a silver GMC Envoy was driving eastbound on Interstate 94 when it crossed the freeway's median into oncoming traffic.

TAYLOR, MI — Three people were killed and two injured after an SUV crossed over a median on Interstate 94 Saturday morning in Taylor and collided with another SUV and a motorcycle, Michigan State Police said.

State troopers said a silver GMC Envoy was driving eastbound on Interstate 94 near Monroe Street at 2:55 a.m. when it crossed over the grassy median into oncoming westbound traffic.

That's when the Envoy struck a GMC Yukon and a motorcyclist, who was riding over 100 miles per hour, troopers said. Officials said the driver and passenger in the Yukon and the motorcyclist were killed immediately in the crash.

The driver and passenger of the Envoy were taken to a nearby hospital and listed in serious condition as of Saturday morning, police said.

The freeway was closed while police were investigating the crash. Officials do not know why the Envoy crossed over the median into oncoming westbound traffic.
