2 Teens, 1 Child Dead After 14-Year-Old Crashes SUV In Metro Detroit

The SUV crashed and flipped onto its side, killing two teens and one child, and seriously injuring two other teens, police said.

LINCOLN PARK, MI — Two teens and a child died died Thursday night after a 14-year-old crashed an SUV in Lincoln Park, police said.

Police said the 14-year-old girl took off in the SUV with a 13-year-old girl in the passenger seat and an 18-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl in the back seat, police said.

Witnesses said the SUV was speeding before it hit a tree and rolled onto its side on Cicotte Avenue near Porter Avenue at 9:30 p.m., reports said.

One of the passengers was thrown out of the SUV, and the other four were trapped inside and were extricated by Lincoln Park fire fighters and other first responders, police said.

The 18-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl were killed in the crash and the two teen girls were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The 14-year-old was in stable condition as of Friday afternoon and the 13-year-old was in critical condition, police said.

Police did not release the names of the people involved in the crash, or mention if they were related or knew each other.

Police were still investigating the crash.
