5-Year-Old's Mouth Taped Shut At Preschool: Report
A family is taking legal action for an event they say humiliated their young son in a Dearborn Heights preschool.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — A family is battling a school district and has hired a lawyer after a teacher reportedly taped a 5-year-old boy’s mouth shut last month. His lunch was also tossed in the garbage during the humiliating event, media outlets report.
This incident reportedly happened at Great Start Readiness at Cherry Hill Baptist Church in March and that it was a substitute teacher assistant who placed a piece of tape on the 5-year-old's mouth. That substitute teacher has since been released, according to school officials.
The little boy told Channel 7 that they laughed at him and told him not to tell anyone about it, including his parents.

“I’m emotionally heartbroken. Disappointed. That’s his second home. That’s how they treat a child with asthma?” his mother told WYXZ.
The family has hired a lawyer and filed a police report, pursuing legal action against the school district for not addressing the situation with transparency. According to the report, one of the teachers involved is still employed with the district.
