Q: Why did you decide to become a doctor?
A: I always had this tendency, ever since I was four or five years old, to help people. I always wanted to be a physician.
Q: What was your biggest surprise when you started practicing medicine?
A: Most of my time is spent in things that have nothing to do with immediate patient care. I had no idea how much paperwork and documentation needed to be done.
Q: What once piece of advice would you give someone studying medicine?
A: The most important thing is to have a passion for it. Otherwise it won’t be very exciting. It’s hard work, no doubt about it, but if you have a passion for it your patients will know and you’ll be happy with it.

Q: Where do you see your field in 10 years?
A: Through advances in information technology, information will be disseminated a lot faster than the way research was distributed in the past. Patients will be better informed and physicians will be better informed.
