The incident happened at 3:15 p.m. Monday outside a Woodhaven McDonald's on West Road where police said a large crowd had gathered in and around the building.

Police said the group was at the restaurant "to confront a third party with whom they believe had been 'squatting' illegally in a residence located within the city of Woodhaven."

A relative of the suspected squatter made a social media post, which prompted the large crowd response, according to police.

Officers arrested three men without incident for disturbing the peace, according to police.

Adams was also arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and stalking, according to court records.

He was placed in jail with a $10,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for July 13.

If convicted, he faces up to 93 days in jail for disturbing the peace. He also faces up to a year in jail or a fine of up to $1,000 for stalking.

There was a protest outside the Woodhaven Police station where fans accused police of protecting the wrong person, Fox 2 Detroit reports.
