The report, based on state data, outlines four years of enrollment trends and places Dearborn's numbers in the context of broader Michigan achievement and demographic gaps.
2. Dearborn man, 27, fatally shot inside his Detroit clothing store (mlive.com) — A 27-year-old Dearborn resident, Ali Wissam Aoun, was found fatally shot inside his Goodfellas Wear clothing store on Woodward Avenue in Detroit, and police are still searching for a suspect. Dearborn-area mourners are being directed to burial services in Westland and a Sunday memorial, while investigators ask anyone with information to contact Detroit police or Crime Stoppers.
3. Lions visit local firehouses to honor first responders (detroitlions.com) — Detroit Lions players, cheerleaders, and staff stopped by Dearborn firehouses on September 10 to thank local firefighters with gift bags, photos, and a pop-up appreciation event. 4. The Henry Ford Preserves A Civil Rights Landmark (detroitisit.com subscription) — A landmark of the Selma civil rights movement, the Jackson family home where Martin Luther King Jr. stayed has been moved to Greenfield Village in Dearborn and opened to visitors this summer. The house, largely furnished with original family belongings, anchors new programming at The Henry Ford that connects Alabama's voting-rights struggle to Detroit's history and offers residents an immersive way to experience 1965.
