Autopsy Set to Determine Cause of Death of Dearborn Heights Man Found on CMU Campus
Divers pulled the body of Michael Anthony Hartnett, 18, from a pond Sunday. An insulin-dependent diabetic, his father reported him missing.

An autopsy will be performed today on the body of Michael Anthony Hartnett to determine how the 18-year-old Dearborn Heights man died.
His body was discovered Sunday in a pond on near Park Library the Central Michigan University campus, WWJ/CBS Detroit reports. Hartnett’s father reported his insulin-dependent son missing to campus police about 2:15 p.m., and a search of the area by campus police and friends began, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The Isabella County Dive Team pulled Hartnett’s body from a pond about five hours later.

He had been seen earlier Sunday, according to reports.
“We want to thank the students, CMU Counseling, the staff at St. Mary’s, the Isabella County dive team, Mount Pleasant Fire Department and Mobile Medical Rescue for coming together in what clearly is a tragic incident,” Central Michigan University Police Chief Bill Yeagley said in a written statement. “Our hearts and prayers are with all of them.”
