Beaumont's Red Tie Ball
Benefitting Neonatal Intensive Care and the Center for Exceptional Families

Beaumont’s 12th Annual Red Tie Ball is set to take place Saturday, May 6 at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn. More than 600 guests are expected to participate in the event which will raise funds to support the Center for Exceptional Families and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn.
Event chairman, Patrick A. Rugiero, Executive Director of Roman Village Restaurant Group, and auction chairwoman, Jae Vitale Plawecki, Owner of JVP Enterprises, are leading a team to create an elegant evening for guests with a lively Gatsby-period theme. Guests are encouraged to dress in their 20’s era finery and, of course, a red tie!
“I have the pleasure, once again, of working beside a group of individuals that is very passionate about supporting area children who are in need of special care and services,” said Patrick Rugiero. “Our goal is always to raise the most money we can for the children’s programs, but we are also committed to ensuring that those who give are thanked by enjoying a wonderful evening with friends and other community members.”

The NICU at Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn is a critical care area that supports infants in need of very specialized services during a crucial time in their young lives. After birth, a baby must make many physical adjustments to life outside of the womb in order to make this transition successfully. It is not uncommon for issues to arise in infants born prematurely, during difficult labor and deliveries or with conditions that put their survival or development at risk. Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn's NICU was created to care for these infants. The NICU admits about 550 critically ill infants annually. Approximately 10 percent of these newborns are transported from other community hospitals in southeast Michigan.
